Mr. David Parson, Jr.

Today we celebrate the life of David Parson, Jr. who was affectionally called Lil Dave.  He was born on October 15, 1969, to the late David Parson Sr and Harriett Deloris Martin Parson in Trenton New Jersey.

Lil Dave attended primary school in Trenton, New Jersey. He moved to South Carolina and attended Spring Hill Elementary, Scott’s Branch Middle School, and graduated in 1987 from Scott’s Branch High School in Summerton SC. After graduating high school he worked at Summerton Apparel and the Federal Mogul Incorporation.

Everyone loved and admired Lil Dave. He was the person if you needed a riding partner who would ride with you all day and never spoke a word of where you went and/or what you were doing. He was also known as the person who always was eating something or asking what you cooked today.

 All through the years of battling his illness it never changed his spirit. On Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00pm he transitioned from this life at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina. He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his sisters Tonya Scott of Albuquerque New Mexico, Kimberly (Herbet) Graves of Virgina Beach, Virgina, Melarka Parson of Sumter, South Carolina, and Alysia (Edwin) Davis- Williams of Georgia; brothers, William D. Parson of Davis Station, South Carolina, and Myron Davis of Columbia, South Carolina; one Aunt, Rosa Garris of Summerton, South Carolina; four nieces, six nephews, and a host of cousins and special friends which he called his brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David & Harriett Parson, his sister, Mildred Loraine Martin, his aunt and uncle, Johnnie & Mildred Davis, his uncle, Titus Martin, his nephew, Micheal Scott, and his stepfather, Willie Doughtry and his grandparents.
